We (that’s me, my wife Jane, daughters Julie and Violet & feline Ginger) moved from my home town of Philipsburg PA to Boalsburg PA, one of a dozen or so communities that claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day. Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day. Sonny Boy I and II, Howlin Wolf, and James Cotton all recorded versions of Decoration Day Blues.
The last three months have been like juggling chainsaws, which is why you have not heard much from me. I do appreciate the patience of my custom harmonica customers! This move from the former Central Hotel in Philipsburg with its majestic 14 ceilings to a basement workshop that has a small but great view of nearby Tussy Mountain has been a big disruption in working.
I like it here – I lived here when I was an art student, and still have a lot of friends in the area.
We are right across the street from a huge yard that belongs to the Pennsylvania Military Museum grounds – a yard that someone else mows, I might add. AND a farmers market in the good weather – I’ll be able to walk there with my battery amp and busk come summertime.
I am looking forward to getting back in the swing of writing and posting again.
